Who are the Ligali family?
The Ligali family is a prominent and historical African lineage. The Ligali Heritage digital archive is the definitive system of record preserving the ancestral lineage, biographies, and generations of descendants spanning over a century of history.
What is the origin of the Ligali family?
The Ligali family heritage is deeply rooted in tradition and community. The exact ancestral origin points, historical milestones, births, and migrations are documented chronically within the interactive Ligali Family Tree and timeline archive.
How can I trace my Ligali ancestry?
You can trace your Ligali ancestry by exploring the interactive digital family tree on this platform. If you are a descendant, you may submit new lineage data, photos, and birth records via the Contribution Portal for administrator review.
Can I add a family member who is already listed?
No, you cannot add duplicate profiles for family members already present in the database. However, you can propose corrections or add missing details to an existing member's profile. Select the member from the tree or timeline and use the "Make Corrections" option to suggest updates for curator approval.
Can I upload photos for existing family members?
Yes. If a family member does not have a profile picture or if their picture needs to be updated, select their card on the family tree, click "Correct Details", set the Correction Priority to "Update Picture", select a file (PNG, JPG, WebP, or GIF under 500kb), and submit it. The picture will update on the tree as soon as a curator approves the correction.
What is a "Verified Lineage Handle"?
A verified lineage handle is a unique identifier mapped to registered members of the family lineage. Using a verified handle when suggesting corrections or adding members ensures that all changes come from authorized family members, maintaining the security and genealogical integrity of the archive.
How long does it take for my proposed additions or corrections to go live?
To preserve historical accuracy, all submissions go through a curation queue. Our heritage curators review and moderate submissions to verify records. Once approved, the updates go live on the family tree and timeline immediately. Curation reviews are usually completed within 24 to 48 hours.
Who can view private family member profiles or bio details?
Detailed biographical records, sensitive dates, and certain personal narratives are protected to respect the privacy of living family members. To access these restricted areas, you must sign in through the Contribution Portal with your family credentials.
How can I suggest historical chapters or milestones for the timeline?
If you want to suggest a historical family milestone (such as migrations, religious achievements, or family achievements), you can use the timeline submission section. These suggestions are reviewed by curators and can be integrated directly into our global chronological timeline.
